Laminate Veneers near Uijeongbu Station

We first check whether no-prep treatment is possible and, if minimal preparation is needed, how far the tooth can be prepared within the enamel.

Laminate veneers at a glance — Boston Miso Dental Clinic is a 3-minute walk from Uijeongbu Station. During a laminate veneer consultation, we first check whether each tooth is suitable for a no-prep veneer. If preparation is needed, we plan and explain the minimum amount for each tooth while preserving as much enamel as possible. A thin ceramic shell is bonded to the front of an anterior tooth to change its color, shape, and gaps together, at ₩600,000 per tooth (VAT included; 2 teeth ₩1,200,000 · 4 teeth ₩2,400,000 · 6 teeth ₩3,600,000). If color is the only issue, we compare whitening; for a small gap or chipped edge, Composite Resin or a laminate veneer; when the damaged area needs repair, Minish; and for a severely damaged tooth, a crown. Clinic Director Dr. Jongbum Lee, a Board-Certified Specialist in Advanced General Dentistry (Korea), personally provides care from design through bonding and check-ups, and has completed the Oral Design Non-Prep Veneer Academy course.

Why Boston Miso

Laminate veneers at Boston Miso Dental Clinic — what's different?

We don’t just recommend laminate veneers — we first check whether an approach that removes less tooth will work. We provide whitening, resin, Minish and crowns as well, explain how much will be reshaped and why before treatment, and publish the fee at ₩600,000 per tooth.

01

We also provide whitening and Minish, so laminate veneers aren't our only answer

We provide laminate veneers, Minish, composite resin, teeth whitening and crowns. We first check whether an option that removes less tooth will work — whitening if color is the only issue, Minish for worn or chipped front teeth.

We assess the scope for no-prep or minimal-prep treatment tooth by tooth

We examine tooth alignment·thickness·color and the bite, and if there is space to add ceramic, we check whether no-prep treatment is possible. We do not prescribe the same amount of preparation for every tooth. If preparation is needed, we plan and explain for each tooth how far it can remain within the enamel — laminate veneers bonded to enamel are reported to have a substantially lower risk of failure than those placed after preparation extends into dentin.

₩600,000 per tooth — our fees are published

We publish laminate veneer, Minish and crown fees in a single table. How many teeth you need is decided together at diagnosis, based on how much shows when you smile.

We show both cases treated with laminate veneers and cases that were not

We show a case with laminate veneers on 2 front teeth, a case with 16 upper and lower laminate veneers, a case in which whitening was chosen instead of veneers, and a case in which 15-year-old veneers broke and were replaced with crowns because of a deep bite. The method and outcome vary with tooth condition·bite·the amount that can be prepared.

When

When are laminate veneers considered?

Consider it when you want to change the shape and length of healthy front teeth, close gaps, and change a color that whitening can’t brighten, all at once. If old laminate veneers broke, we first check causes such as the bite and grinding before making new ones.

When you don't like the shape or length of your front teeth Considered when you want to change the form, such as front teeth that are short or uneven in length. It's for cases where the teeth themselves are healthy.
When there are gaps between your front teeth Small gaps are sometimes filled with composite resin; if both the gap and the shape need changing, we consider laminate veneers. We first check why the gap formed.
When the color doesn't lighten with whitening If whitening has limits for the color — such as discoloration originating inside the tooth — we consider covering it with laminate veneers.
When old laminate veneers have broken or discolored Before making new ones, we first check what caused the break (bite, grinding, habits). If the cause remains, the same thing will happen again.
Process

Laminate veneers — how does it work?

It proceeds in five steps: diagnosis and consultation, deciding the design and how much to reshape, reshaping and impressions, bonding, and a check-up. Before reshaping, we first sort out whether whitening, resin or Minish would be enough, and after bonding you come back so we can check the gum margin and the bite.

STEP 01

Diagnosis & Consultation

Using intraoral photos and X-rays, we check your teeth and gums, your bite and whether you grind your teeth, and first determine whether whitening, composite resin or Minish would work instead.

STEP 02

Design & Reduction Planning

We decide the number and shape based on how much shows when you smile and your facial lines, then explain how much needs to be reshaped and why.

STEP 03

Preparation·impression when needed

For teeth suitable for no-prep treatment, we take an impression without preparing the surface. Only when necessary do we prepare the planned area before taking the impression. During fabrication, temporary teeth are placed as needed.

STEP 04

Bonding

After checking the color and fit, we treat the tooth surface, bond the ceramic and adjust the bite height.

STEP 05

Follow-up Check

You come back after bonding so we can check the gum-line margin and your bite, and if you grind your teeth, we'll advise a protective night guard.

The process and timeline can vary depending on oral condition; the exact plan is provided after examination.

Before You Decide

What should I know before deciding?

First, you should know that if a tooth is prepared for a laminate veneer, it cannot be restored to its original state. A veneer is not permanent and can break or come off, and the risk is higher if you grind or clench your teeth. That is why, before treatment, we explain whether a less-invasive option is possible and how much preparation would be needed.

Our standard for laminate veneers

Boston Miso Dental Clinic, Uijeongbu — Dr. Jongbum Lee, Clinic Director · Board-certified specialist in Advanced General Dentistry

  • ✓If whitening, composite resin or Minish will work, we tell you before suggesting laminate veneers
  • ✓We explain how much will be reshaped and why before treatment
  • ✓When anesthesia is needed, we prepare three steps — topical → computer-controlled (i-JECT) → intraosseous (QuickSleeper) — so treatment starts with less pain
  • ✓If there's a grinding or bite problem, we check it before bonding
  • ✓The Clinic Director who consulted with you performs every step himself, from design to bonding

What to know beforehand

  • !Some teeth can be treated without preparation, but once a tooth has been prepared, it cannot be returned to its original state. Even if a veneer was bonded without preparation, removing it requires cleaning off the adhesive, so it cannot be guaranteed that the tooth will return completely to its initial condition. That is why we consider the option that removes less tooth structure first.
  • !Laminate veneers aren't permanent either. The most common problem is chipping, followed by debonding, and these are reported to occur more often in the first few years after bonding.
  • !Teeth grinding or clenching, or a habit of biting through hard things with your front teeth, raises the risk of fracture.
  • !Teeth may be sensitive for a while after bonding, and the margin where the veneer meets the gum can develop discoloration or decay, so regular check-ups are needed.

5 front-tooth treatments — which one is right for you?

Boston Miso Dental Clinic provides all five. So instead of answering with just one, we review from top to bottom whether an option that reshapes less tooth can solve the problem.

TreatmentCost (standard)What it changes, and how much is reshaped
Teeth WhiteningFrom ₩90,000 (per program session, VAT excluded)Changes color only. The teeth aren't reshaped; suitable when shape and gaps are fine and only the color is dark.
Composite Resin₩150,000 per surfaceFills small gaps between front teeth or small chips at the edges with tooth-colored material. Almost no reshaping.
Minish₩980,000 (per tooth, VAT included)Restores front teeth that are worn, chipped or damaged by decay to a shape close to the original, reshaping mainly the damaged area. Comes with a 7-year warranty (conditional on regular check-ups).
Laminate Veneers₩600,000 (per tooth, VAT included)Changes the color, shape and gaps of healthy front teeth together with thin ceramic. The front surface is thinly reshaped, and a design that stays within the enamel lasts longer.
CrownsFrom ₩600,000 (per tooth)Covers the whole of a badly broken or root-canal-treated front tooth. The entire circumference is reshaped, so the most tooth is removed.

The actual amount removed depends on the tooth's condition and the design more than on the treatment's name; we'll explain the right option after diagnosis.

Ask Us

What should I ask during my consultation?

You can ask these questions exactly as written in the treatment room. They are questions we should answer for you before you decide.

  1. Are my teeth suitable for no-prep treatment? If minimal preparation is needed, how far will you prepare within the enamel?
  2. Why won't whitening, composite resin or Minish work for me?
  3. How many do I need, and what does the warranty cover if one breaks or comes off?
Q & A

Laminate Veneers — Frequently Asked Questions

₩600,000 per tooth. How many you need depends on how much of your teeth shows when you smile, so we decide that together at the diagnosis, and we'll also tell you in advance that if only one or two teeth are done, a color difference from the neighboring natural teeth may show. Minish is ₩980,000 and a zirconia crown for a front tooth is ₩600,000; the full list is published on our Fees page. Learn more →

Laminate veneers cost ₩600,000 per tooth (VAT included). At the per-tooth rate, the totals are ₩1,200,000 for 2 teeth, ₩2,400,000 for 4 teeth, and ₩3,600,000 for 6 teeth. Minish costs ₩980,000 per tooth (VAT included): ₩1,960,000 for 2 teeth, ₩3,920,000 for 4 teeth, and ₩5,880,000 for 6 teeth. If additional treatment is needed, we provide separate written information after the examination. The number of teeth needed is determined by considering both the area visible when you smile and the color of the adjacent teeth. Related information →

The front surface of the tooth is thinly reshaped; the guideline recommended in the literature is to remove about 0.5 mm of the front enamel (Ferrari 1992). Because the bonding agent sticks better to enamel than to dentin, the principle is not to expose the dentin. As a proportion, laminate veneers removed about 3–30% of the tooth crown and full crowns on front teeth about 63–72% (Edelhoff 2002). The actual amount depends on tooth alignment, colour and thickness, so at the design stage we first explain how much will be reshaped and why.

Laminate veneers have a 3-year warranty, conditional on completing the recommended regular check-ups and treatment of surrounding teeth. If a veneer breaks or comes off, whether it is rebonded or remade and what cost the patient bears depend on the cause and timing. Exclusions and the extent of the patient's responsibility are stated in writing in the warranty before treatment begins. Before remaking it, we first identify why it broke (bite·teeth grinding). We publish cases with laminate veneers on 2 front teeth and on 16 upper and lower teeth, a case in which whitening was chosen instead of veneers, and a case in which old veneers broke and were replaced with crowns. Even with the same number of veneers, tooth condition and bite differ, so the treatment and outcome cannot be assumed to be the same. During consultation, we also explain how your teeth differ from the cases shown. Related information →

No-prep treatment is considered when there is room to bond a veneer with almost no preparation of the tooth surface. Minimal preparation removes only what is needed to create space for the ceramic. If the alignment and thickness allow enough room, a veneer may be bonded without preparation, but this is not possible for every tooth. If a tooth protrudes or is thick, a no-prep veneer can make the front tooth look bulky or create a ledge at the gumline. We therefore determine what is possible from the tooth's alignment·thickness·color·bite, not from the treatment name. Related information →

When anesthesia is needed, we prepare three steps as standard — topical anesthesia → computer-controlled anesthesia (i-JECT) → intraosseous anesthesia (QuickSleeper) — so treatment starts with less pain. Your teeth may be sensitive for a few days after bonding; if it lasts longer, please let us know.

Diagnosis and design, trimming and impressions, and bonding usually take 2–3 visits. If gum treatment or whitening comes first, the number of visits increases accordingly, and we give you an expected schedule after diagnosis.

A systematic review reported a 10-year cumulative survival rate of about 95.5% for ceramic laminate veneers (Alenezi 2021). In a study with up to 12 years of follow-up, veneers on teeth reshaped only within the enamel had a 99% survival rate, while those bonded to dentin were about 10 times more likely to fail (Gurel 2013). How long they actually last varies from person to person, depending on habits such as teeth grinding and on care.

Yes. In a meta-analysis, the most common problem was fracture or chipping (about 4%), followed by debonding (about 2%); discoloration or decay at the gum-line margin and nerve problems have also been reported (Morimoto 2016). Because the treatment reshapes the tooth, it can't be reversed, and if you grind or clench strongly, we may recommend a different option or also advise a protective night guard.

Yes. If you grind or clench strongly, or if gum inflammation hasn't settled, we address those problems before bonding. If little tooth structure remains because of decay or fracture, Minish or a crown may be a better fit, and if color is the only issue, whitening may be. If teeth overlap or are rotated significantly, we need to check whether orthodontic treatment should come before covering them; Boston Miso Dental Clinic doesn't provide orthodontics, so in that case we'll recommend orthodontic care elsewhere. Both bond ceramic to the front teeth, so they look similar, but they start from different places. Laminate veneers are a cosmetic treatment that changes the color, shape and gaps of healthy front teeth, while Minish (MINISH) restores front teeth that are worn, chipped or damaged by decay to a form close to the original tooth. Fees are ₩600,000 for a laminate veneer and ₩980,000 for Minish (7-year warranty, conditional on regular check-ups), and which one suits you is decided by looking at the condition of your teeth. Don't bite through hard foods with your front teeth, and if you grind your teeth, wear a protective night guard while you sleep. Keep the margin where the veneer meets the gum clean by brushing and flossing, and regular check-ups help catch chipping or discoloration early.

No. Some patients who came in for a veneer consultation found that color was the only issue and finished with whitening, which doesn't involve reshaping the teeth. If an option that removes less tooth can solve the problem, we'll tell you about it first. Learn more →
