Minish (MINISH) restores worn or chipped front teeth to a shape close to the original.

Minish at a glance — Minish (MINISH) restores front teeth that are worn, chipped or damaged by decay to a shape close to the original, reshaping mainly the damaged area and using ceramic with properties similar to natural teeth. Its starting point differs from laminate veneers, which change the color and shape of healthy front teeth, so we review in order of least tooth removal — small gaps: composite resin; damaged front teeth: Minish; badly broken-down teeth: a crown. We use only material bearing the genuine certification mark, at ₩980,000 per tooth with a 5-year warranty (conditional on regular check-ups).

Did you confirm your Minish is genuine?

Without the genuine certification mark, it may not be authentic Minish. As a MINISH Provider, Boston Miso Dental Clinic in Uijeongbu personally checks both how much tooth is removed and that the material is genuine.

When

When is Minish considered?

When teeth are worn or eroded The surface is worn or pitted, often with discoloration, which whitening alone can't fix.
When part of the tooth is damaged by decay We first diagnose whether it can be restored with minimal removal, based on the extent and location of the damage.
When there's a gap between the front teeth The approach depends on the size and cause of the gap, so we check the cause first.
When a tooth is missing or an existing restoration has fractured Whether partial repair is possible or it needs to be remade depends on the condition of the neighboring teeth and the extent of the fracture.

Process

Minish — how does it work?

Minish — first examination and consultation STEP1

First examination and consultation

We first check with intraoral photos and X-rays, then discuss whether Minish is the right method.

Minish precision diagnosis STEP2

Precision diagnosis

We take precise impressions of the teeth and analyze facial lines, then discuss the intended design with you.

Minish Gum Spa STEP3

Gum Spa

Using Airflow equipment to minimize irritation, we clean up around the gum line first, to prepare the site for Minish.

Minish preparation and precision fabrication STEP4

Preparation and precision fabrication

After the tooth surface is refined and an impression taken, it's precisely fabricated from design through milling. The material used carries a genuine certification mark.

Minish bonding STEP5

Bonding

The Minish restoration is bonded to the natural tooth and the bite height is adjusted.

Minish fitting check STEP6

Fit check

You'll come back 1–2 weeks after bonding so we can check your smile line and go over how to care for it afterward.

The process and timeline can vary depending on oral condition; the exact plan is provided after examination.

Before You Decide

What should I know before deciding?

Our standard for Minish

Boston Miso Dental Clinic, Uijeongbu — Dr. Jongbum Lee, Clinic Director · Board-certified specialist in Advanced General Dentistry

  • We explain before the procedure whether tooth removal is needed, and if so, how much
  • We confirm the Minish used in fabrication with its genuine certification mark
  • If Minish isn't the right fit for your condition, we tell you about other options as well
  • The Clinic Director you consult with personally handles everything from design to bonding
  • A 5-year warranty applies (conditional on regular check-up visits)

What to know beforehand

  • !The extent to which a minimal-removal approach is possible depends on tooth alignment and thickness, and it doesn't apply to every tooth.
  • !Minish isn't permanent either — it can chip or come off depending on habits and care.
  • !If you have strong bite habits such as bruxism or clenching, we may recommend a different type of restoration instead of Minish.
  • !Even after bonding, the area where Minish meets the gum needs care, and regular check-ups are needed.

5 front-tooth treatments — which one is right for you?

Boston Miso Dental Clinic provides all five. So instead of answering with just one, we review from top to bottom whether an option that reshapes less tooth can solve the problem.

TreatmentPer toothWhat it changes, and how much is reshaped
Teeth WhiteningFrom ₩90,000Changes color only. The teeth aren't reshaped; suitable when shape and gaps are fine and only the color is dark.
Composite Resin₩150,000 per surfaceFills small gaps between front teeth or small chips at the edges with tooth-colored material. Almost no reshaping.
Minish₩980,000Restores front teeth that are worn, chipped or damaged by decay to a shape close to the original, reshaping mainly the damaged area. Comes with a 5-year warranty (conditional on regular check-ups).
Laminate Veneers₩600,000Changes the color, shape and gaps of healthy front teeth together with thin ceramic. The front surface is thinly reshaped, and a design that stays within the enamel lasts longer.
CrownsFrom ₩600,000Covers the whole of a badly broken or root-canal-treated front tooth. The entire circumference is reshaped, so the most tooth is removed.

The actual amount removed depends on the tooth's condition and the design more than on the treatment's name; we'll explain the right option after diagnosis.

Q & A

Minish — Frequently Asked Questions

Visits & Appointments

Minish (MINISH) is a tooth-restoration treatment that brings front teeth that are worn, chipped or damaged by decay back to a function and shape close to the original tooth. Reshaping focuses on the damaged area, and a restoration made from a material with properties similar to natural teeth is bonded in place. Its starting point differs from laminate veneers or simple cosmetic contouring, which change the color and shape of healthy front teeth.

Both bond a ceramic restoration to the tooth, so they look similar, but they start from different places. Laminate veneers are a cosmetic treatment that changes the color, shape and gaps of the front teeth, while Minish starts from restoring areas that are worn, chipped or damaged by decay to a form close to the original tooth. With either one, how much of the tooth needs to be reshaped depends on the design and the tooth's condition, so we check the reduction range for that tooth before going by the treatment name. Boston Miso Dental Clinic in Uijeongbu provides both treatments (MINISH Provider); fees per tooth are ₩600,000 for a laminate veneer and ₩980,000 for Minish, and Minish comes with a 5-year warranty (conditional on regular check-ups). If color is the only issue, it may end with whitening, which doesn't involve reshaping the teeth. Learn more →

It uses, layer by layer, materials with properties similar to the tissues that make up a tooth — enamel and dentin — to restore the damaged part close to the original tooth. Whether it can be applied depends on the condition of the tooth, so we'll advise you after diagnosis.

The Minish restorations we make carry the genuine certification mark, and we'll show it to you at your consultation.

A 5-year warranty applies, conditional on regular check-up visits. The warranty terms are provided in writing during consultation.

If the condition of the neighboring teeth supports it, a wing-shaped (wing bridge) approach is an option. It doesn't apply to every missing-tooth site, though, so we let you know whether it's possible after diagnosis.

A 5-year warranty applies, but actual lifespan varies by person depending on habits and care. If it chips or comes off, it may need to be remade.

Using the VITA shade guide as a reference, we decide on a tone that blends naturally with the surrounding teeth after consultation.

How much tooth is prepared depends on the tooth's condition and the design, and we explain this before the procedure. For procedures that need anesthesia, we default to three steps — topical anesthesia → computer-controlled anesthesia → intraosseous anesthesia — to start with less discomfort.

Yes. If a tooth is so badly damaged that little tooth structure remains, if you have strong grinding or clenching habits, or if gum inflammation hasn't been treated yet, we first recommend another option such as a crown, or gum treatment. If color is the only concern, whitening without preparing the tooth may be enough. Possible issues after bonding, such as fracture, debonding and sensitivity, and how we handle them, are covered separately in the Minish side-effects guide. Related guide →
